Historically, the beautiful resorts on stilts that you see in glossy travel magazines and then daydream about visiting are roofed in traditional thatch. However, there has been a recent trend to roofing these fantastic reprieves with Western Red Cedar shingles, which provide a similar organic and natural aesthetic, but improves vastly on the lifespan of the structure. We have been fortunate to be involved in the building and restoration of many of these beautiful resorts over the years.
